Death in the Dark Continent also includes a historical background to the situation in Africa 1870-99, a who's who of the major players and a 'bonus' skirmish game. The publishers have filled the book with photographs of painted miniatures, many being used to illustrate actual game play as well as to show how attractive armies for this period can be.
